This guide will step you through the process of updating the Safari web browser on OS X.

Every time you launch a Java applet, a Java Web Start application or the Java Control Panel, the system first launches your program and then, in the background (so that performance of your Java application is not impacted), it determines if it has checked in the last 7 days for a Java update.
If you want to manually check for updates and install them, follow these steps: Congratulations, you have now ensured that your copy of Safari is up to date.
In normal circumstances, the App Store will check for updates and prompt you to install them.
OS X will regularly & automatically check for updates to Safari (and any other software you have installed via the App Store) and prompt you to install updates as they are found.
On a Mac, you update i Tunes using the Mac App Store program that comes built into the mac OS on all Macs.
When the update has been downloaded and installed, Apple Software Update will run again and give you a new list of programs available to update.
If i Tunes shows up in the list, select the check box then click Install.

The graphics frameworks Open GL and Open CL are still supported by the operating system, but will no longer be maintained; developers are encouraged to use Apple's Metal library instead.
